It was 1456 when the municipality of Agnone sanctioned a true quality protocol for copper production.

Since then the town, with its 171 workshops and 8 foundries, became the leading producer of copper in all of Italy.

Today, only a few traces remain of this ancient tradition, such as the Historical Copper Museum.

It is here, thanks to a guided tour, that you can retrace the entire production chain starting with the foundry premises, with their hammers and forge.

You will continue to the boilermaker’s workshop to see how vats, boilers, pots, and poopers were created, and observe the original tools and ancient artifacts, dating back to the 15th century.

Finally, you’ll conclude your tour in the workshop of Felice Gerbasi, father of the current owner, who in the 1950s began to revolutionize the craft of boiler making.
